Role Overview

Applications are sought from suitably qualified and experienced Lawyers to fill the exciting role of Senior Government Lawyer within the Corporate Services Branch, AFMA based in Canberra. Working as part of a small team, you will collaborate with other Senior Legal Officers and AFMA’s General Counsel to provide in-house legal services for managing Commonwealth fisheries.

Your work will help maintain AFMA’s integrity and reputation by ensuring the agency operates as a professional and accountable government entity in compliance with all government, legislative, and relevant international requirements.

Eligibility

• All applicants must be Australian citizens.
• Must have a current security clearance at Baseline Level or the ability to obtain one.
• Must hold a law degree and hold (or be eligible to hold) a restricted government legal practising certificate.
